From Wednesday, 5.10.2022 to Friday, 7.10.2022 the 1st openCost expert workshop takes place at the German Electron Synchrotron (DESY)<\/a> in Hamburg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the workshop, the openCost team will present the project<\/a> status. In addition, the event will serve to promote networking and exchange with international and national experts, who will present their respective perspectives and needs in the area of publication costs and cost transparency and report on their experiences. The expert workshop will then summarize the desiderata of the individual participants. In addition, a standardized metadata schema for the collection, retrieval and transfer of cost data will be developed in various hands-on labs. The goal is to propose a standardized procedure for the exchange of all publication fees as well as for payments via publishing agreements throughout Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
