{"id":1745,"date":"2025-07-30T11:46:53","date_gmt":"2025-07-30T09:46:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.opencost.de\/?p=1745"},"modified":"2025-12-03T14:06:01","modified_gmt":"2025-12-03T13:06:01","slug":"call-for-posters-en","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/opencost.de\/news\/en\/news\/call-for-posters-en\/","title":{"rendered":"openCost Conference 2026: Call for Posters"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From March 17 to 19, 2026, the openCost project team will host the international conference \u201copenCost: Navigating Cost Transparency\u201d at the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron DESY in Hamburg, to which all interested parties are cordially invited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The conference will focus on insights into the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opencost.de\/news\/en\/project#second-project-phase\">second phase of the openCost project<\/a> and joint discussions on ways to achieve cost transparency in scientific publishing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Initial results on the development of an internal metadata schema for cost recording and the expansion of the exchange format to include additional publication types (e. g. books and book chapters) and new cost types, for example in the area of diamond open access, will be presented and discussed. In addition, application scenarios in the <a href=\"https:\/\/ezb.ur.de\/index.phtml?bibid=UBR&colors=7&lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Electronic Journals Library (EZB)<\/a> and repositories will be presented. The focus will also be on issues of technical implementation, data integration, and process design, with a particular emphasis on the further development of the openCost standard, institutional use cases, and the networking of open science infrastructures to promote cost transparency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The aim is to jointly set the agenda for the second phase of the project, to bring together practical perspectives from the community, and to create space for networking and exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:20px\">Call for Posters<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of the conference, we are planning an interactive poster session with short presentations to showcase projects, initiatives, and institutional use cases. Interested parties are invited to submit poster proposals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We particularly welcome contributions on the following topics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cost transparency in scientific publishing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sustainable financing and budgeting of open access infrastructures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cost transparency in diamond open access<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Internal workflows for processing transformative agreements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Diversity of publication objects and their cost recording<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Technical and organizational workflows in dealing with publication costs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open access projects related to cost and budget issues<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Publication costs as FAIR research data<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We look forward to receiving poster proposals in the form of abstracts (max. 300 words) by <strong>November 30, 2025<\/strong>, via our <a href=\"https:\/\/indico.desy.de\/event\/50077\/abstracts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">conference tool Indico<\/a>.
