In addition, individual <strong>contract components, such as bundles or collections<\/strong>, can be recorded and uniquely referenced. The Registry complements initiatives such as the ESAC Registry and supports the assignment of opencostids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:20px\">An introduction to the opencostid<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:16px\">The opencostid is a <strong>unique, machine-readable identifier<\/strong> for contracts and business models in the field of scholarly publishing. It allows agreements to be uniquely identified and linked to participating institutions as well as the resources they cover, such as journals. In this way, the opencostid increases <strong>transparency<\/strong> and facilitates <strong>analysis, monitoring, and data exchange<\/strong> across systems. The goal is to provide a representation of the current contractual landscape as comprehensive and as practical as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:16px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.opencost.de\/view\/title\/index.A.html\">An overview of all opencostids already assigned can be found here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:20px\">Integration with the EZB<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:16px\">Open Access agreement information from the openCost Registry will be integrated into the EZB. This will provide EZB users with institution-specific information on Open Access agreements and the journals covered by each agreement. At the same time, the openCost Registry is independent of EZB participation and is available <strong>worldwide free of charge<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:20px\">Requesting an opencostid<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:16px\">As a logged-in user you can submit agreements to the openCost Registry, which have no opencostid assigned yet. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opencost.de\/cgi\/register\">Create an user account<\/a> in the registry or login to your account <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opencost.de\/cgi\/users\/login?target=https%3A%2F%2Fopencost.de%2Fcgi%2Fusers%2Fhome\">here<\/a>.
